S.S. GUNVOR MAERSK (1977 Grt.). Built in 1931 by W. Gray & Co. Ltd., West Hartlepool for its own account as JOSEPHINE GRAY, after having been laid down as LIVINGSTONE III for C. Mathisen, of Bergen (Norway). In 1934, she was sold to A/S D/S af 1912 (A.P. Moller mgr.), of Copenhagen and renamed GUNVOR MAERSK. At the occupation of Denmark, the vessel was seized by Britain at Leith, and sailed for the British Ministry of War Transport with Lambert Bros. Ltd. as managers. In 1945, she was returned to her previous owners. In 1955, she became the ANGUS OF RED. A/B Angus (Karl. Kahre mgr.), of Mariehamn (Finland) In 1960, Kahre transferred the ship to his Red. A/B Hera without change of name. In 1964, she was sold to Kim Shipping & Trading Co. Inc. (V. Pagliuca mgr.), Panama and renamed Robert. On 19 June 1969 she ran aground near Othani Island. In November of the same year, she was refloated and subsequently sold for scrap at Perama in 1970.
