During the early years of the 20th century, T.F. Sibly collected Carboniferous corals from Little Island, Barry. These samples form part of our fossil collections but have not been formally identified or taxonomically organized. This work will prepare and thin section the specimens; taxonomically identify the specimens; undertake axonomic descriptions; and curate the collection.
The research objectives are to become familiar with the morphology and taxonomy of Carboniferous corals, and to become acquainted with curatorial and preparation techniques.
