The Etcher

SEILER, Carl Wilhelm Anton (1846 - 1921)

Date: 1892

Media: oil on panel

Size: 24.4 x 20.3 cm

Acquired: 1952; Bequest; Gwendoline Davies

Accession Number: NMW A 2501

Collection: The Davies Sisters Collection

This ornate interior and the etcher’s sumptuous clothes date to the eighteenth century. For many it represented an era of  elegance and refinement in art which no longer existed in the current age of Realism and Impressionism. Seiler reflects his own attention to detail in the way that the etcher peers in intently at the point of his stylus.

This has long been my favourite picture but I can't find it on your Print on Demand service as you can't search for a particular painting. We are redecorating and I was hoping to get a copy of this printed to go on the top of the stairs. Is it possible to get a copy that would fill an 86 cm wide by 210 cm high space?
