Base Camp is a series of 31 short films made by Finnemore in and around the family home in the Gwendraeth Valley in west Wales. The films establish the garden as an anarchic and irreverent ‘territory’. We are encouraged to think of ideas of home, nation, and our place and the wider world. This body of work won Finnemore the Gold Medal at the National Eisteddfod in 2005. In the same year he representedWales at the Venice Biennale.
