Managing the online presence for such a rich national collection is a complex task. Each work of art you currently see in our online collection, represents weeks of research, conservation, specialist photography, intellectual property research and programming. Additional work has also been taking place ‘behind the scenes’ over the last two years, improving the infrastructure which brings these collections records online: improving the website search, the data and metadata for thousands of records.
As a charity, we can only work as quickly as our funding allows, and so I cannot give a firm date for when this work will be available to view online. I will however contact the Department of Art to see if I can provide an update.
