An opportunity to try your hand at the ancient art of blacksmithing in Big Pit’s original forge, where generations of blacksmiths served the needs of Big Pit.

Working under the guidance of Len, the Museum Blacksmith, who has over 50 years’ experience of working as a Blacksmith and working underground you will be introduced to forging, forming and cutting techniques and use hot steel to create your own poker to take home.*

This fun and relaxed course is suitable for the complete beginner. There will be two places available to book in each session. Each session lasts up to 2 hours.
