A portrait bust of Chief Bokani sits quietly in a glass shelf at Amgueddfa Caerdydd-National Museum Cardiff. The museum plaque describes him as a Congolese pigmy chief who ‘performed on the London stage’ in Victorian Britain.

But is this really the full story?

It is important who tells a story, and how it is told.  Through poems, open letters, spoken word and stories, young people have revisited the story of Chief Bokani.  Come to their sharing, listen to their words or take part and sign up for an open slot.

To uncover the whole story book a space: www.Eventbrite.co.uk
