Cadw / Open Doors

Museums play an important role as storehouses for biodiversity, keeping a record of a species for posterity. Although many of our specimens are on display in the Museum, we also have collections stored behind-the-scenes. As part of Cadw’s Open Doors event we will be opening up one of these stores to members of the public. As well as seeing a range of zoological specimens, we will also have a number of rare books on display so that you can see how scientists of the past depicted them.

Curator of Vertebrates & Mollusca, Jennifer Gallichan, and Principal Librarian, Kristine Chapman will run tours of the store at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm.
