007 Bond Posters

With Clare Smith, Art Department.

Since Sean Connery uttered the immortal line ‘Bond, James Bond’ in 1962, Bond films have become part of our national culture. The production company United Artists donated posters from the films to Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales for films starring both Sean Connery and Roger Moore.

In this behind-the-scenes talk we will look at how these posters confirmed the established image of Bond and developed his persona over different films and different actors.

The posters for classic Bond films such as Goldfinger, Live and Let Die and Diamonds are Forever will be shown and discussed to explore how 120 minutes of action, romance and espionage can fit onto one poster.
