Cultural heritage – buildings, monuments, objects – is constantly threatened by decay, accidents or even deliberate destruction. Preserving heritage for future generations is a constant challenge. This event explores different facets of heritage preservation: the effect of armed conflict on stone surfaces, emergency planning and heritage salvage, strategies for post-conflict remediation, and construction of memories of WWI or post-communist Eastern Europe.

Experts from Cardiff University and Amgueddfa Cymru will give short presentations throughout the afternoon on how their work assists the preservation of our common heritage. Talks in Oriel Suite 1-4pm - book on arrival at Info Desk.
