Remembrance Sunday in the Museum is a unique way to mark the day.

There will be re-enactors to chat with you about life during the First World War, as well as family poppy-making crafts, storytelling and drill with a modern day soldier.

Students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama will provide music during the day, from a haunting Last Post played at 11am in the Main Hall before the two minute silence to  ‘Keep the Home Fires Burning’ in a good old-fashioned sing-song.

This event will incorporate celebrations of Welsh culture, with Harp and song filling the Welsh Landscapes Gallery and French song will be complemented by contemporary dance.

New music, specially commissioned for the day, will be showcased in the intimate Derek Williams Gallery alongside the poetry focusing on women at home.

The voices of ‘The Remembrance Sunday Singers’ will be filling the entrance hall in a lunchtime concert at 1pm, including performances of music recently rediscovered.
