Sullivan Ironclad Tubinair Machines, lantern slide
A rear or jib end view of a Turbinair Machine cutting along the face in the Deep Hard Seam. If the cuttings are shevelled away the cut will be left as shown, almost perfectly clean. It should be noted how the machine hugs the face without support from any props or timber. Although these machines operate with unequalled smoothness and lack of vibration cannot be carried to the roof through the timber as is common with most machines.
