Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
LINEN, unbleached, embroidered with coloured cottons in cross and darning stitches. Divided horizontally into four compartments by narrow bands of ornament. In the first compartment, in two rows commencing with a cross, are Gothic letters of the alphabet, the date 1857 and the name "c.vanlyite." ; in the second in two rows are Roman capital letters of the alphabet and the (unfinished) name "c.vanl"; in the third compartment are Italic letters of the alphabet and numerals to 10 in three rows; the fourth compartment contains a pyx between two candlesticks with candles, floral designs and a rectangular pattern of darning. There is a varied floral stem border.
