Reverend William Williams, Caledfryn (1801-1869)
Artist: WILLIAMS, William Morgan, ap Caledfryn (1837-1915)
William Williams, Caledfryn was a Congregational minister, poet and critic. Trained as a weaver he was later ordained as a minister and published a number of books in Welsh. These included volumes of poetry and guides to reading and writing Welsh. This image shows Caledfryn delivering a sermon from a pulpit or reading desk and was painted by his son, also called William.
