Pleistocene horse bone
Half of a proximal end of a metatarsal. The bone has sheared vertically as well as horizontally. The bone itself shows evidence for cut marks on one edge, typical of filleting.
Cut-marks show that a Neanderthal filleted the meat from the bone using a stone tool.
