Medal awarded to members of Penrhyn Quarry FC who were the champions of the 'Welsh Football League Northern Section (Division 1)' during the 1947-48 season. Members of the squad received a medal to recognize their success. The owner of this medal was William Kitchener Roberts (who was known as 'Kitch'). William Kitchener Roberts is believed to have been the captain of the team. William Kitchener Roberts, like many members of his family, worked at one time at Penrhyn Quarry.
Medal is made from silver (hallmarked: anchor (Birmingham) / Lion (silver) / Y (1948) ) and has an enamelled image of a red dragon on it’s centre.
