Roman copper alloy plate, decorated
1 CuA decorated plate fragment. Oval shaped openwork and bifurcating central tongue on one splaying end. Across the face are three pairs of linear grooves running parallel to the plate edges. The plate is broken at both ends, the end without openwork having a groove on the reverse side and at right angles to the edges and 15.5mm from the break.
Typological affinities: The elaborate style of decoration, together with its flimsy construction, gives this a Romano-British feel, though this attribution is not secure.
