Figure

Figure of Falstaff, bone china, standing on an elaborately moulded base with two sets of c-scroll feet and further moulded scrolls around it, from the base rises a modelled tree stump with moulded sprigs of flowers applied to it, against which the figure rests, the figure modelled in the form of a corpulent man wearing a plumed hat, neck ruff, coat, waistcoat, breeches and knee boots, a raised sword in brass in one hand and a round shield hooked through the other arm; the figure delicately painted in polychrome enamels with a realistically painted face, the coat red with a pink lining, the waistcoat painted with a design of vineleaves and grapes, the breeches painted with blue stripes, the base painted green with gilt embellishments to the moulded scrolls, the tree trunk painted brown with the moulded flowers painted in reds, pinks, yellows and blues.
