An offering to Hymen
Artist: GILBERT, Sir Alfred (1854-1934)
A young girl stands stiffly before the altar of Hymen, the Roman god of marriage. In other versions she holds a cup or a flower as an offering. The original plaster model was three times as big, and scaled down to make this very popular small bronze.
