Jug, white terracotta, baluster-shaped with flat base, bulbous body, vertical slightly flared neck, small pouring lip and heavy hollow wheel-thrown handle; painted in black in wax-resist with a tree on the handle and a frieze (proceeding anti-clockwise from the handle) comprising a seated artist painting at an easel, a male model standing with one leg on a stool, two female models standing facing each other, the right one with one arm and one foot resting on a chair, dots filling the empty spaces above the base, some marks in blue in the glaze.
