Thanks for your comment David.
P.S. Smith was born in Bebington, Cheshire in 1926. He was awarded a scholarship to Liverpool School of Art in 1942 & studied there for his National Diploma in Design (Fine Art). His studies were interrupted by National Service in the mines. On completion he was appointed Head of Art at Cardigan Grammar School, and was Co-founder & Chairman for many years of Cardigan Art Society. He designed memorial gates for the school, and produced a mural in acrylic for Cardigan Town Hall. His works include many inspired by the unique character of the Cardiganshire landscape & its buildings, such as the ones in our collection of the old lead mines in North Cardiganshire.

I have discovered that you have a collection of pictures by Philip Stanley Smith. I have a picture of a timber yard and it is signed Philip H. Smith'56 Liverpool. It is not an oil.
I am sure it is the same artist as in your collection of oils.
Can you tell me anything about the artist as I cannot find anything on line?
Thank you
