See what’s behind the hoarding? It’s an exciting time at the Museum as we undertake the biggest redevelopment project in our history.  Visitors can take the opportunity to see what’s behind the hoarding and see the project as it progresses on site.  Contractors, Kier Construction, are holding a series of short site visits (approx. 20 mintues).  Age 18 and over. 12pm, 1pm & 2pm

Bernice Parker, Events Officer for St Fagans National History Museum, said, “The food festival is one of our most popular events of the year. It’s a chance for visitors to come and try new foods, chat to passionate producers whilst enjoying a day out at Wales most popular heritage attraction.

“As well as over 80 stalls of different foods, visitors can enjoy a walk around Wales enjoying our historical buildings and gardens and also enjoying traditional crafts and activities. It’s a fantastic day out. There’s something for everyone at this year’s festival and for free!”

Building work continues at St Fagans National History Museum as the site undergoes the biggest redevelopment project in the history of the Museum.  This has been made possible by funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), Welsh Government and other supporters. St Fagans was awarded the largest grant ever given by the HLF in Wales in 2012 to help tell the stories of life in Wales over 200,000 years and more.

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales operates seven museums across Wales including St Fagans National History Museum, National Museum Cardiff, the National Roman Legion Museum, Big Pit: National Coal Museum, the National Wool Museum, the National Slate Museum and the National Waterfront Museum.

Entry to all seven national museums is free, thanks to the support of the Welsh Government.
