Give the kids an unforgettable experience at Big Pit this Half Term

There's lots for the whole family to see and do at Big Pit this February half term, so why not bring the children along and give them an experience they will never forget?

As well as taking the world-famous underground tour, visitors can learn more about the mining industry in Wales in this award-winning museum, which is part of the Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales family. Visit the Mining Galleries, where modern mining methods are brought to life with the help of our ‘virtual' miner guide, or stroll through the Pithead Baths museum exhibitions and learn about the industry that shaped modern Wales.

Children can join in the activities every day from Saturday 18 to Sunday 26 February: activities will include dressing up as a mini miner, making trappers candles, as well as soft play for the toddlers.

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales is the new name for the National Museums & Galleries of Wales, which operates seven national museums across Wales. These are National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans: National History Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon, Big Pit: National Coal Museum, Blaenafon, National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre, National Slate Museum, Llanberis and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.

Entry to all Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales sites is free, thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government.
