Learn what life was like for Roman children in workshops at the National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon. Workshops are held between 11 am-4 pm on 10-14 and 17-21 April and activities include stories of Roman childhood and board games. All for just £1 per child.

While at Big Pit: National Coal Museum, try your hand at a series of musical instruments, have a go at making your own instrument and join in our daily 'concert' at 3 pm. Workshops run 11 am-3 pm on 13-18 April. Admission free.

Amgueddfa Cymru — National Museum Wales operates seven national museums across Wales. These are: National Museum Cardiff; St Fagans: National History Museum; National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon; Big Pit: National Coal Museum, Blaenafon – winner of the 2005 Gulbenkian Prize for Museum of the Year - National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre; National Slate Museum, Llanberis and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.

Entry to all the museums is free, thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government.

The National Roman Legion Museum is open Monday – Saturday 10 am–5 pm, Sunday 2 pm–5 pm. Big Pit: National Coal Museum is open every day 9.30 am-5 pm. Underground tours run frequently 10 am–3.30 pm. Children must be at least one metre tall to go underground.
