Green Fingers at National Museum Cardiff

If gardening's your thing, come to Glanely Gallery during May. There's plenty of things to do - suiting every age! Or if you haven’t decided just yet on your career, then some Museum staff will be on hand to help you make up your mind as part of Adults Learning Week.

6 & 7 May – How does your garden grow?
See what clever tricks plants use to ensure the best chance of pollination.

13 May – Do Something Different Session: Plant Eaters!
Find out what allows creatures to crack open seeds, munch leaves, digest grass or snip nectar.

20 May – Adult Learners Week: Thinking About a Museum Career? Come and hear some museum staff talk about their experiences and qualifications.

The Glanely Gallery at National Museum Cardiff lets you pick up and examine a selection of our artefacts and, with the help of experts, have a go at identifying your own collections. Alternatively, if you want to catch up with the latest discoveries in the field of art or archaeology, the gallery has a wide variety of sources to help you. It’s packed with state-of-the art resources as well as being equipped with the humble scissors and glue - for that more ‘hands on’ feel.

If this doesn’t take your fancy, then why not take advantage for one last time of the fact that National Museum Cardiff, is hosting the Artes Mundi exhibition. The exhibition continues to celebrate visual culture from across the world, comprimising of large paintings, drawings, compelling photographic images as well as fictional films of human drama or documentary discussion. With so many questions being asked in relation to the context of the exhibition, why not come and make your own decision?

National Museum Cardiff is one of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales’ seven national museums. The others are St Fagans: National History Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon, Big Pit: National Coal Museum, Blaenafon, National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre, National Slate Museum, Llanberis and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.

Entry to all national museums is free thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government.
