Currently in training to top the bill at the Millennium Stadium on 8 July, Enzo had a well-deserved break in the relaxing surroundings of the Welsh-Italian themed coffee shop, which is the latest part of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales's large-scale developments at St Fagans to be completed as the organization moves towards its centenary in 2007.

With its stylish Welsh-Italian theme and a warm welcome for the whole family, Bwyty Bardi Café, situated at the front of the main building, is the perfect place to meet up and have a drink before exploring the Museum or, if you're feeling rather weary after a packed day on the 100-acre site, why not call in for a bite to eat before you head home?

The name was chosen to highlight the strong Welsh-Italian community that exists in south Wales. Many of the Italians who settled in Wales originally came from the Bardi area of the country, and the name has become synonymous with Italian communities in the south Wales Valleys. By calling the venue Bardi, St Fagans is recognising the contribution of these communities in Welsh life today and throughout the twentieth century.

Changes will be taking place over the next few months at the Vale Restaurant and the Gwalia Tearooms as well, with on-site caterers digbytrout restaurants making improvements at both venues as part of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales developments to improve the Museum for all visitors.

One of the other developments at St Fagans over the past few months is a new gift shop, which opened its doors a few weeks ago. Stocking all types of gifts, textiles, clothing, jewellery, Welsh crafts and a wide range of books, it's the perfect place to find a gift for someone special.

With both projects, worth around £300,000 in total, completed in time for the summer, St Fagans: National History Museum looks forward to an excellent season, with plenty for all the family to do, eat and buy.
