Women’s rights – Evening talk at National Roman Legion Museum on women in Ancient Rome and today

A woman's life used to be governed by her domestic responsibilities - in Ancient Rome and more recently. Join Rosemary Butler AM and Elizabeth Mayor from Cardiff University at the National Roman Legion Museum on International Women's Day, Thursday 8 March (6:00 - 8:00pm) to debate how things have changed for women in the last 2,000 years.

"We are delighted both Rosemary Butler AM and Elizbaeth Mayor have agreed to join us on Thursday evening - on International Women's Day - to explore women's roles historically as well as their entitlements in the modern world," said Bethan Lewis, Museum Manager, National Roman Legion Museum. "Women had to fight for their rights as far back as Ancient Rome and it is interesting to see some of the same issues being discussed 2,000 years later.

"There will be an opportunity for questions after the talk and both men and women are welcome to come along to share your views on the subject."

Tickets for the event are £3 each and can be bought in advance through phoning 01633 423134.
