Music at the Museum, the last in the series

Oakdale Silver Band will complete Big Pit: National Coal Museum's Music at the Museum series of events this Saturday (4 August) at 2 pm. The local band will follow two successful performances by Tredegar Town Band and the Graham Watkins Jazz Quartet who entertained visitors in July.

The second half of the Music at the Museum series has been postponed until autumn 2007 because of extensive developments on site to expand the Museum's educational facilities. But there is still a full line up of events for visitors to enjoy at the Museum. Tales with miner's wife Maggie Morgan will be held on 6, 8, 10 and11 August, you can take a nature walk around the former colliery spoil heap, Coity Tip, on 20, 22 and 24 August and there are also activities in Big Pit's new learning space to look forward to when it opens in the autumn.

Entry to the events is free thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government. For further information, please contact (01495) 790311, e-mail BigPit@museumwales.ac.uk or visit www.museumwales.ac.uk.
