A public event launches Amgueddfa Cymru — National Museum Wales latest Annual Report

An exciting event for the public at The Senedd in Cardiff Bay sees the launch of Amgueddfa Cymru's latest Annual Report.

The event will be hosted by the Welsh Assembly Government Minister for Heritage, Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM.

It will be an opportunity to look back at the work and achievements of Wales's seven national museums in 2006/07. It will also be a chance to hear Michael Houlihan, Amgueddfa Cymru's Director General, talk about our vision to become a world-class museum of learning.

He will be talking about how we used 2007, our centenary year, to launch some of the projects that will help deliver this vision. The work started in March, with the opening of a new feature at St Fagans Oriel 1. This is the exciting new gallery where we explore the various themes that create our identities in Wales. Communities from all over Wales worked with the Museum's curators to develop a modern, interactive gallery experience.

The event takes place at 12.30 pm at The Senedd in Cardiff Bay on Thursday 25 October. Come and hear about our plans for St Fagans, and the rest of Wales's national museums, for the next century.
