At Home with Mother Christmas

Big Pit is offering Christmas activities with a difference again this year.  The one and only Mother Christmas has taken up residence at the Museum for three weeks during December in order to be nearer the children of south Wales in the lead up to the festive season.

Now in its fifth year, the very successful ‘At Home With Mother Christmas’ event takes place throughout the first half of December, and is guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family.

Mother Christmas said:  “It is a pleasure to be returning to Big Pit again this year, our holiday cottage there is a lovely place to spend December, much warmer than Lapland, and Rudolph loves to wander out on the Coity mountain behind the mine.  I’m looking forward to meeting all the children of south Wales again, and sharing stories of our Christmas preparations with them.”

You can meet Mother Christmas at Big Pit on November 29, December 5 & 6, 12 & 13, sessions take place between 11am and 4pm and cost £1 per child.
