Over 6,000 people have already enjoyed Green Drops and Moonsquirters: The utterly imaginative world of Lauren Child - the first exhibition to bring Lauren Child’s books to life, which opened at National Museum Cardiff at the end of November.

Now, to add to your Charlie and Lola experience, the Museum is hosting Utterly Fun Days on Saturday 12 and 19 December 2009. Supported by Arts & Business Cymru and Cardiff children’s shoe company - Funky Monkey Feet, the free events held from 11am – 4pm on both days are designed especially for the whole family.

Try the Museum’s bean bags rather than your sofa to hear your favourite Charlie and Lola story, make your own party hat to wear on Christmas day and create festive gifts and decorations.

Santa will also be paying an early visit to deliver presents to Lauren Child fans! Stay until 3:30pm on 19 December and see him showcasing a special Fairtrade Santa costume especially designed and made by a student in Newport using Welsh recycled wool and Fair Trade materials. 

The Lauren Child exhibition, which features Pesky Rat’s Grubby Alley, a magna-doodle, original illustrations by Lauren Child and a Damien Hirst Spot painting is open every day over Christmas from 10am – 5pm except 24 – 26 and 28 December 2009, and 1 January 2010. Your last chance to enjoy the exhibition will be 31 January 2010.

Developed by Manchester Art Gallery, Green Drops and Moonsquirters: The utterly imaginative world of Lauren Child is based on illustrations, characters and themes from all of Lauren Child’s books and is fully interactive. You can also try our special themed food like Lola’s favourite pink milk in the Museum’s Oriel Restaurant or buy gifts at our fully stocked dedicated shop.

Admission to National Museum Cardiff, the event and the exhibition is free thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government.
