Welsh culture comes to life at the Waterfront this weekend

This weekend the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea will come alive to mark St David’s Day with a packed programme featuring daffodils and dragons, live folk music and a traditional twmpath.

The St David’s Day Party will take place on Saturday 5 March from 12pm to 8pm.

Throughout the day there will be plenty of kid’s fun including crafts to make daffodil bunting and a gliding dragon – as well as the opportunity to try clog dancing.

Plus, visitors can listen to foot tapping performances of live Welsh folk music from bands including RAFFDAM, Ric-a-Do, Al Lewis and comedy from Noel James.

Then on Sunday 6 March, visitors can celebrate Mother’s Day in style with a free, hands-on craft event from 12.30pm-3.30pm. Families will get the chance to create special fridge photo frames out of lolly sticks.

“We’re delighted with the range of activities we’ve got on offer to mark this year’s St David’s Day,” said Events Officer Miranda Berry.

“It’ll be a chance for the whole family to enjoy some free Welsh-inspired fun whether you decide to pop in for half an hour or all afternoon!”
