Free Admission for All
Culture Minister Jenny Randerson visited the National Museum & Gallery, Cardiff, today (March 23rd) to announce the news.
Said Anna Southall, Director of NMGW: "We are delighted - free admission has been at the top of our agenda for the last two and a half years. We began slowly by admitting school parties free in April 1999 which we achieved without additional funding. But the success of free admission to schools has encouraged consistent financial support from the National Assembly since its inception in July 1999.
Thanks to the National Assembly's support Wales national museums will be free for all from April 1st - several months before full free admission will be introduced in England."
