Roman Spectacular breaks all records

Friends, Romans and Countrymen flocked to Caerleon over the weekend to enjoy the Spectacular, which transformed the modern town back into the old Roman centre of Isca.

Organised by the Roman Legionary Museum, part of the National Museums & Galleries of Wales, this year's event attracted over 6,500 visitors, breaking all previous records.

Museum Manager, Bethan Lewis, said:

“We are delighted with the success of this year's Spectacular. We have a small team here at the Roman Legionary Museum, and we all pull together to organise a great day out for our visitors.”

“This year's event had something for everyone — from Roman re-enactments and Victorian soldiers to mask-making and a children's parade. It's a great day out for all the family, and I am so happy that we attracted so many visitors last weekend.”
