Holiday fun at the National Woollen Museum

If you want to learn more about wool, art and crafts over the coming months, why not take a trip down west to the National Woollen Museum in Dre-fach Felindre?

From August 1, the Museum's Search Engine becomes the hub of activities throughout the summer holidays, with a packed programme of events.

Museum Manager and Curator, Sally Moss says:

“Summer holidays can appear long for both parents and children, so we've decided to offer a helping hand here at the National Woollen Museum. We'll have lots of activities going on throughout the school break, so why not join us for some fun? With a wide range of activities for children and parents working side by side, there's no excuse for not getting involved!”

“We'll also be having a special event over the summer bank holiday weekend, with stories, songs and poems all based on wool, spinning and textiles in both Welsh and English. Come down to Dre-fach Felindre for an excellent day out at the National Woollen Museum.”

Taking part in all activities and events is free of charge. Entry to the Museum itself is also free, thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government. For more details, telephone (01559) 370 929.

The Museum is one of six museums run by the National Museums & Galleries of Wales (NMGW). Other NMGW sites are the National Museum & Gallery, Cardiff, Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans, Big Pit: National Mining Museum, Blaenafon – winner of this year's prestigious Gulbenkian Prize, Roman Legionary Museum, Caerleon, and the Welsh Slate Museum, Llanberis. Opening this autumn is the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea, outlining the innovative stories of the peoples and industries of Wales.
