Museum Magic in Cardiff

Before your very eyes — Vanishing Victorians is the theme of National Museum Cardiff’s Christmas lecture and show this year.

On 14 December, Edwin Davies, Magic Circle historian and Emeritus professor of Biochemistry at University of Hull, talks about the top 5 Victorian illusionists and the significant part they played in popularising magic. The evening ends with a magic performance by Alex Shaxon, Magic Circle President.

The Victorian Dreamers exhibition influenced this year’s theme. This beautiful exhibition looks at paintings and works on paper from the National Museum’s own collections and can be seen here in Cardiff until 8 January 2006.

If you’re looking for fun for all the family, come and be part of a host of Victorian inspired activities at our Victorian Christmas Fun Day on 17 December with storytelling, contortionists, magic lantern shows, face painting and much much more.
