Santa Meets Wacky Scientist

WHAT has Santa and wacky scientist Dr Mark Lewney got in common? – they will both be making an appearance at Swansea's National Waterfront Museum this week.

Oh yes they will — and there's lots more festive goodies on offer as Christmas approaches.

The Museum which opened on 17 October has already attracted more than 43,000 visitors and its first Christmas will be a celebration for everyone with a magical mix of the old and new.

In true traditional style Father Christmas will make a special appearance at Friday's Winter Wonder event from 5.30pm-8.30pm. There will be plenty of festive fun and activities for everyone!

On Sunday, 11 December at 1.30pm, discover the fascinating history behind the Jewish festival of Hanukkah in a family fun session. Places are limited so please book on arrival.

Also on Sunday at 2.30pm book your place at our special Christmas lecture with Famelab winner Dr Mark Lewney. Mark who has been described as a cross between Einstein and Jimmy Hendrix by his popular programme broadcast on the BBC and CBBC will take you on a 40 minute electrifying journey of the physics of the rock guitar!

Head of the Museum Steph Mastoris said he was delighted with the response from the public so far:

“What is particularly encouraging is that people realise that there is a variety of events and activities taking place here in addition to the exciting core museum displays and Christmas is no exception. “We have a mix of old and new which should appeal to everyone.”
