Star Spotting at the Waterfront

Forget the Oscars — get star spotting at Swansea’s National Waterfront Museum instead!

As well as star gazing with Swansea Astronomical Society, the search is on for the science star of the future as FameLab comes to the Waterfront.

That’s just a taste of some of the many fun packed, FREE and fascinating activities taking part during National Science Week at the museum.

Join in the debate on Wind Farms which kicks off events on Sunday, March 12 at 2.30pm. For or against ? A panel of specially invited experts will present their cases and the audience can decide.

On Sunday, March 19, 10am–5pm, Einstein meets X-factor as scientists compete for a place in the FameLab final. Be the first to see the science presenters of the future or why not take part? Visit www.famelab.org for more information.

At 2.30pm discover more about leatherback turtles in Wales with specialist Dr Jonathan Houghton then look to the skies at 7pm and discover how people used to navigate the sea by using the sky at night with expert Brian Spinks. There will also be the chance to learn how to use a telescope by star gazing from the museum balcony.
