Give the kids an unforgettable experience at the National Slate Museum Llanberis this Easter!

If you're looking for a great day out with something to do for all the family, then the National Slate Museum Llanberis is the place for you.

Be amazed at our craftsmen's skills at splitting and ‘dressing' slate ; climb the steps to see the massive waterwheel – the largest of its kind on mainland Britain - or sneak a peek into the Quarrymen's houses to see how they used to live! You can also get arty and make an Easter card with supplies from the museum's ART CART, make a slate rubbing or two or have a go at completing the Museum's family fun leaflet.

And with a sumptuous café and packed gift shop on site you can treat yourself to a meal before stocking up on Easter presents too!

But the museum is also worth a visit for its location – situated in the centre of beautiful Padarn Country Park, which is also home to the Llanberis Lake Railway, Quarry Hospital and Snowdon Star pleasure boat trips. Plenty to do for the whole family!

The Museum is open daily from 10am – 5pm and entry is free, thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government.

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales operates seven national museums across Wales. These are National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans: National History Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon, Big Pit: National Coal Museum, Blaenafon, National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre, National Slate Museum, Llanberis and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea, shortlisted for this year's Gulbenkian Prize for Museum of the Year.
