National Roman Legion Museum

Preparations are well underway at the National Roman Legion Museum for the which takes place at Caerleon on 1—2 July. So why not spend June learning a bit more about what the Romans really did for us, by visiting the National Roman Legion Museum to swot up on all types of Roman facts?

The Spectacular lives up to its name every year, and 2006 will be no different as the famous Ermine Street Guard re-enactment group bring the Caerleon Amphitheatre to life with marching and displays of cavalry and artillery. Ars Dimicandi, a gladiatorial group from Italy will show what Roman gladiators were really like. Youngsters can join the Junior Legion, receive a certificate and march in the Amphitheatre. As well as all this the whole family can have a go at the children’s activities, see the Roman doctor, shop with the Roman traders or try a Roman style massage.

1 & 2 July. 11am–5pm. Admission: £4 Adults, £2 Concessions and £10 Family.
