Amgueddfa Cymru — National Museum Wales gets rave reviews

Both The Rough Guide to Britain and The Rough Guide to Wales give Amgueddfa Cymru — National Museum Wales the thumbs up in their latest edition.

The travel guides, used by millions across the world, have compiled a list of the top places to visit in the UK and Wales, and our national museums have fared very well.

The family of museums are on the UK–wide list of 35 – one of only four Welsh entries, and the only UK museums included in the list other than the British Museum.

The South Wales Valleys top the Wales top thirty list, but our newest museum, the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, comes in at a healthy number four. National Museum Cardiff and St Fagans: National History Museum also hit the top twenty for Wales.

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales Head of Marketing, Siân Thomas said:

"Rough Guides are used by millions of people every year, so getting a good write-up in the latest edition of both The Rough Guide to Wales and The Rough Guide to Britain is great news for Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales."

These are National Museum Cardiff; St Fagans: National History Museum; National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon; Big Pit: National Coal Museum, Blaenafon; National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre; National Slate Museum, Llanberis and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.
