Fflat Huw Puw in Llanberis

On Saturday 1 July, an exhibition on the model boats of J Glyn Davies opened at the National Slate Museum, Llanberis, with an afternoon of activities, which included a talk by Dr David Jenkins, Senior Curator of Industry at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea. Elwyn Jones of Hogia'r Wyddfa as also on hand to lead the singing of some of J Glyn Davies's most famous songs for children..

J Glyn Davies's family left some of his model boats to Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales, and Saturday was the first time for these to be seen in public. Today, J Glyn Davies is best known for some of his famous songs for children, including Bwrw Glaw yn Sobor Iawn, Siôn Corn, and of course, Fflat Huw Puw.

The exhibition is showing at Llanberis until the end of July, and will then be on show at Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales and the National Library of Wales's stand at the National Eisteddfod. It will also be at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales has produced a limited set of posters of some of J Glyn Davies's most famous songs. These are available at the National Slate Museum throughout July and will be available at the National Eisteddfod and the National Waterfront Museum during August. The posters include Elin Williams's original drawings, and were reproduced thanks to Jano Williams.
