Shipshape at the Waterfront

EVERYTHING is shipshape at Swansea's National Waterfront Museum as toddler play sessions get a New Year's boost.

The 'Waterfront Nippers', new monthly fun classes for the under-fives, are about to take off thanks to the support of insurance firm Admiral Group.

The sessions, which take place on the first Monday of every month, are delivered by Holibods but will be free to the public thanks to Admiral's backing. With a different theme every month, children will be able to explore through play, stories and movement.

The Admiral Group, which has offices in Swansea and Cardiff, also supports the Waterfront's costumed time travellers and Storytime sessions.

Admiral managing director, Sue Longthorn, commented, "We're delighted to help the Museum provide fun, creative and interactive educational activities. The Waterfront Nippers, alongside the Time Travellers and Storytime sessions, is another excellent way to bring the Museum to life and maximise children's enjoyment when visiting."

The National Waterfront Museum is part of Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales, which operates six other sites across Wales. These include National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans: National History Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, Big Pit: National Coal Museum, National Wool Museum and the National Slate Museum.

Entry to all the museums is free, thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government.
