Easter - from past to present

Do you know how the Welsh used to celebrate Easter? How does this compare with how you celebrate the holidays today?

St Fagans: NationalHistoryMuseum is famous for exploring the history of the people of Wales and this Easter is no exception. Exclusive seasonal guided tours will be held (3 – 5 April), take part in Easter painting workshops at St Teilo’s Church (4 – 16 April), and come and see the Tudor re-enactment group (7 – 11 April).

And with the recent opening of Oriel 1 (Gallery 1) – the Museum’s newest attraction which is sponsored by Principality Building Society - there is even more for visitors to do at St Fagans. Design your own lovespoon using a computer game, select your favourite tunes from a jukebox or try on clothes that a child might have worn in Victorian Wales – all at Oriel 1.

Exploring what is means to be Welsh and to live in Wales today, the new Gallery also hosts works by contemporary artists Peter Finnemore, Bedwyr Williams and Marc Rees who used the collections at St Fagans as a source of inspiration.

More information on Easter activities at St Fagans can be found by visiting www.museumwales.ac.uk.
