Bride and Groom go Underground

Visitors to Big Pit: National Coal Museum enjoyed it so much, they are returning to the site this Saturday (14 July) with their wedding party!

David Halpin and Cheryl Akers are due to get married at the Band Stand, Tredegar this weekend but before the official ceremony their guests have been invited to join them to experience life at the coal face at Big Pit. 

Only the second couple ever to include the world-famous tour in their wedding plans, they will go 300 feet underground at 10.00am to the accompanyment of Abertillery Male Voice Choir. 

Admission to Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales is free thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government. 

Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales operates seven national museums across Wales.  These are National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans: National History Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon, Big Pit: National Coal Museum, Blaenafon, National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre, National Slate Museum, Llanberis and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.
