Activities galore for the whole family in south-east Wales this October

Visitors to the NationalRomanLegionMuseum and Big Pit can enjoy a host of fun activities this October.

At the NationalRomanLegionMuseum, discover the world of the Celts - the war-like race who lived in Caerleon long before the Romans. Dress like a Celt and learn more about the lives of these colourful people. Activities take place 11 am–4 pm Monday 29 October-Friday 2 November and cost just £1 per child.

On Wednesday 31 October, celebrate Samhain with a Roman and Celtic horror night, when Roman ghosts come out to play, with games and activities celebrating the spookiest night of the year, including a prize fancy dress competition. Tickets must be booked in advance and cost £2 for children, £1 for adults. Activities take place 6 pm-8 pm.

Meanwhile at Big Pit over half term visitors of all ages can find out more about our new Learning Space with hands-on activities during Discovery Week. Activities include discovering historic objects and fascinating quizzes to help you explore our exhibitions. Activities take place 29 October–2 November, 11 am–4 pm.
