DWYNVAL

Hearts of Stone to celebrate special days for lovers

With two very Romantic days coming up soon –  St Dwynwen (25 January  and St Valentine’s

14 February ) why not pop along to the National Slate Museum to get an unique gift for your

loved one – a handcrafted slate heart?

The slate hearts are unique to the museum and are made by the museum’s demonstrating quarrymen.

“ Our Quarrymen have been making the slate hearts for a couple of years now and they are always very popular with our visitors as they are a really special gift for someone.’ explained marketing officer, Julie Williams. “They can be given individually as mini cards or even gift tags or with a new larger size available ( 5”) can also be used as coasters.”

Also for St Dwynwen’s day the museum will be holding craft activities on 20 January between 1pm and 3pm when there will be a chance for visitors to make a card for their loved one and create a mini scrapbook based around the story of St Dwynwen!

The slate hearts  - which come in two sizes – 3” and 5” are available from the Museum  shop until

 14 February 2008.
