St David's Day Street Party

Swansea’s National Waterfront Museum is celebrating St David’s Day in style on 1

March with a street party - and everyone is invited.

As well as Welsh music, a male voice choir, local Welsh produce and craft activities, there will be a performances by Welsh dance company Dynion which has choreographed a special dance for the event.

Living history characters will also help bring Wales’ history alive and there will be Welsh cakes and drink for the first 100 people. Visitors can also take part in a competition to name chicks which will start their incubation on 1 March ready for Easter.

A museum spokeswoman said there will be something to interest the whole family. “The fun begins at noon until 4pm and we hope people will turn up in their Welsh jerseys or costumes,” she added.

Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales operates seven national museums across Wales. These are National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans: National History Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, Big Pit: National Coal Museum, National Wool Museum, National Waterfront Museum, Swansea and the National Slate Museum.

Entry to all Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales sites is free, thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government.
