Scandinavian ensemble, Music for the Mysteries begins its UK tour at National Museum Cardif.

Visit National Museum Cardiff on Friday, 5 September at 12 noon, for a brand new musical experience performed by five Scandinavian musicians, who form Music for the Mysteries.

The ensemble performs contemporary music based on Western Mystery Traditions which portrays ancient and Celtic tales. Their repertoire is chosen according to their surroundings and playing at National Museum Cardiff, one of their chosen pieces will be 'The 7 natures.' The song has Celtic-Arthurian lyrics by Mike Harris from Wales.

Music for the Mysteries is made up from singer Agnethe Christensen who also plays the kantele; Hanne Tofte Jespersen who sings, plays the piano and the Ghanaian xylophone; the violin is played by Kuno Kjærbye; Ida Bach Jensen plays the double bass; and Anders Hvidberg-Hansen is on percussion. There will be an opportunity to talk to the musicians following the performance.

Their tour includes a performance at Glastonbury's annual Dion Fortune Seminar on Saturday 6 September and a concert at Glastonbury Abbey on 7 September. However their first concert is at National Museum Cardiff as Heidi Evans, the Museum's Events Officer explains:

"I'm very glad National Museum Cardiff is the first stop for Music for the Mysteries. It's great to be able to offer our visitors a new form of musical entertainment, which brings history to life in a new and different way."
