Amgueddfa Cymru at the Mardi Gras

2011-08-24Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales will returning once again to the vibrant Cardiff-Wales LGBT Mardi Gras at Coopers Field, Cardiff on Saturday 3 September 2011.
The theme for this year’s stall at the event will be ‘Be Yourself’ and visitors will be able to witness the Community Dresser curated by Gay Ammanford for LGBT History Month, currently on display at St Fagans: National History Museum. Last year’s popular art on a canvas bag returns again with visitors invited to design their own work of art on a canvas bag to take away as well as sharing their views on Amgueddfa Cymru’s Equality Objectives.
Claire Thomas, Amgueddfa Cymru’s Diveristy Officer, said, "Amgueddfa Cymru’s participation in Mardi Gras forms part of our wider work on promoting equality and diversity in all that we do. We found it to be a successful venture last year as well as a lot of fun and we hope visitors will come to our stall to find out more about what we do."
